School of Education students can be found in schools all over the region, completing their required student teaching. You will find them in elementary, middle, and high schools, working with children of all ages and abilities.
Over 100 Graduate Assistantships
Throughout the School of Education, graduate students serve as graduate assistants, many of which are paid positions. Experiences include working in the Vacc Clinc, serving as tutors to local students, and assisting in the Michel Family Teaching Resources Center.
North Carolina Association of Colleges for Teacher Education Student Teacher of the Year Award
In all but one year since 2017, the UNC Greensboro School of Education’s Student Teacher of the Year has reached finalist status for the state’s student teacher of the year accolade. In 2017, UNCG’s Eliana Berger was the recipient of the NCACTE Student Teacher of the Year honor.

The School of Education boasts 100% pass rates on both the Library Media Coordinator and School Counselor Praxis II exams.
Committed to the Success of our Students
Fulfilling a desire from our undergraduate students for further tools to help them be successful, the Academic Support Hub provides additional supports for School of Education students by offering tutoring services in a variety of areas. Students can obtain extra assistance in ASL, Math 112, CSC 120, and in preparing for Praxis exams.
