Outside of the classroom, our students have access to internships, field-based projects and many opportunities to work with members of the local community, whether they are practicing teachers, emerging scientists from high schools, freshman just entering higher education or elementary school writers.

We offer a variety of ways for people interested in becoming a K-12 educator to achieve their career goals. All of our initial licensure programs combine rigorous coursework with ample opportunities for classroom experience in K-12 schools prior to student teaching
already a K-12 teacher and interested in an advanced degree?
Our advanced degree programs are for practicing teachers who already hold a teaching license. The coursework in these degree programs move beyond practice and delve into theory and research.
want to become a higher education professional?
Our programs in higher education seek to prepare students for leadership positions at higher education institutions. These programs emphasize a theory-into-practice mindset that is informed by leading empirical research on best practices in higher education.
SOE SCHOLARSHIPS & FUNDING
A variety of financial aid is available to our students, including scholarships based on academic merit and financial need. We invite you to explore the many scholarship and funding opportunities offered in the School of Education.
Alternative Licensure
The Alternative Licensure programs provide initial teacher certification options to those with an earned four-year degree and seek to earn a Standard SP1 teaching license. UNC Greensboro offers a wide selection to meet the initial licensure needs of the community.

Committed to the Success of our Students
Fulfilling a desire from our undergraduate students for further tools to help them be successful, the Academic Support Hub provides additional supports for School of Education students by offering tutoring services in a variety of areas. Students can obtain extra assistance in ASL, Math 112, and in preparing for Praxis exams.
