UNC Greensboro’s PPEERS Cohort 5 — the program’s largest — celebrates leadership growth, equal access, and impact in rural schools across North Carolina.
School administrators or teachers looking to become a principal have multiple paths to that goal within the UNCG School of Education. A pair of programs specifically provide the essential training to achieve that goal – the Principal Preparation for Excellence and Equity in Rural Schools and the Assistant Principal Leadership Academy.
As part of PPEERS’s Thursday Seminar and ELC 675: Schools as Centers of Inquiry, North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) Executive Director of Center for Safer Schools (CFSS), Karen W. Fairley, J.D., recently presented to the PPEERS 4 Cohort. PPEERS Leadership Team members and UNC Greensboro School of Education’s Department of Educational Leadership and Cultural Foundations (ELC) members were also in attendance for her presentation.
During the April NC Principal Fellows Program Commission meeting, PPEERS was awarded funds to increase its cohort enrollment from 20 to 27 Principal Fellow members in 2024-26 and 2026-28.
Impact Through Innovations’ Kickbox is an innovation toolkit that continues to spark amazing solutions to real-world educational challenges by UNC Greensboro School of Education students.
