Triplett Honored as 2025 UNCG Student Teacher of the Year

Madison Triplett, a Middle Grades Math student in the Department of Teacher Education and Higher Education, has been named the 2025 UNCG Student Teacher of the Year. Triplett completed her student teaching at Trinity Middle School in Randolph County.

North Carolina teachers spend as much as $1,300 of their own money on school supplies each year, some $400 more than the national average. As UNC Greensboro prepares to send 136 students currently earning their teaching licenses into the education workforce, the UNCG Staff Senate is determined they will not have to spend so much out of their own pockets.

Dawkins Chosen as President-Elect of American Association of School Librarians

The American Association of School Librarians has announced that members have elected April Dawkins, Assistant Professor for Information, Library, and Research Sciences, as the 2025-2026 President-Elect. She will serve as the AASL President during the 2026-2027 term and immediate Past President in 2027-2028.

ELC Welcomes Participants for Seventh Critical Conversations Conference

The Department of Educational Leadership and Cultural Foundations in the UNC Greensboro School of Education hosted the seventh annual Critical Conversations Conference on Saturday, March 1, 2025. This year’s theme was “Grounded and Growing: Collective Work to Strengthen Education and Communities.” The theme addressed the changing political, social, and cultural landscape in education and the increasing need for collaboration among educators, students, communities, and organizations.
