Doctoral Student Hilary Flint Recipient of NBCC Fellowship 

A licensed clinical mental health counselor and National Certified Counselor, Hilary Flint is now in their second year of the Counseling and Counselor Education doctoral program in UNC Greensboro’s Department of Counseling and Educational Development.

Education Scholarship Will Help Educators ‘Change the World’

Kids need heroes at home, at school, and in their communities, says Cathy Tisdale ’75. She believes philanthropy can help. With the establishment of the Cathy Tisdale Class of 1975 Teacher Education Endowed Scholarship, she hopes to encourage future educators to join the profession.

Class of 2025: Caleb Kirk Finds His Rhythm 

Caleb Kirk is familiar with a stutter step. He grew up swing dancing with his parents and is a National Shag Dance Champion with his partner and wife, Emily. After graduating from UNC Greensboro with his undergraduate degree in business management in 2020, he started a career in that field and realized after a couple of years that he needed to pivot.

Virginia Madorin works with a young student

UNCG Deaf Education Alumna Makes an Impact

With at least 1,500 deaf students throughout North Carolina, Virginia Madorin ‘11 serves the Deaf community in her role with the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction. Madorin is currently an IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) consultant in the Office of Exceptional Children and co-director of the North Carolina DeafBlind Project.

ELC Hosts Successful Rebecca Carver Institute

The Department of Educational Leadership and Cultural Foundations (ELC) at UNC Greensboro’s School of Education hosted the annual Rebecca Carver Institute on Experiential Education on Saturday, October 18, 2025, which also coincided with UNCG’s Homecoming.
