Congratulations to Dr. Kenneth Simington, doctoral alumnus of the Department of Counseling and Educational Development, on his appointment as Interim Superintendent of Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools beginning March 1.

Dr. Simington has committed much of his professional career to Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools. He served as the Assistant Superintendent for Student Services and Chief Academic Officer prior to becoming Deputy Superintendent in 2016. His institutional knowledge and personal reputation as a man of integrity and well-deserved respect make him uniquely qualified to step into the Interim Superintendent’s role as the district approaches budget and hiring season.
