Why Did you Choose UNCG?

The environment was a good fit for me! I was also offered a chance to be a part of the UNCG Teaching Fellows (now Spartan Education Scholars) and that really sold me.

What is your favorite place on campus?

I love the outside part of the fountain view caf, or wherever there is a piano!

What activities and organizations are you involved in on campus?

The Collective with Definition Church! And Spartan Education Scholars.

What experience at UNCG has had the most significant impact on you?

Personally, being a part of my college ministry has absolutely changed my entire life.

What has been your favorite class and why?

ELC 281. It’s a cultural foundations of education class and I really enjoyed how the professor gave us lots of different lenses to learn and complete the course work!

What are your career goals?

I’d love to be an advocate for people. I’m passionate about God and how he loves people and so I feel like service or ministry would be up my alley. I specifically care about food justice and education inequities across the globe and in our communities.

What made you want to choose a career in This Field?

People! I love people and working with them so the opportunity to serve them really excites me.

What advice would you give a student considering UNCG and the School of Education?

Give it a shot! UNCG, does a phenomenal job of ensuring that people get experience early! So, worst come to worst, if you find out education isn’t for you, it’s not the end of the world.

How Has the Spartan Education Scholars Program Impacted Your Experience at UNCG?

It has been critical to success within my major! So many wise juniors and seniors have really helped me along the path. It’s also helped to give me a sense of community within the School of Education itself.
