The Critical Language Scholarship is an intensive, overseas language and cultural immersion program.  During the summer, students spend eight to ten weeks abroad studying one of 15 critical languages including:

  • Arabic
  • Azerbaijani
  • Bangla
  • Chinese
  • Hindi
  • Indonesian
  • Japanese
  • Korean
  • Persian
  • Portuguese (new for 2019!)
  • Punjabi
  • Russian
  • Swahili
  • Turkish
  • Urdu

This past summer, a SOE student, Ramsey Cardwell (ERM) was awarded the scholarship and studied Chinese in Dalian, China.  We would love to have more winners in 2019!
