Why Did you Choose UNCG?

I loved the campus and student involvements options. I also loved the educational program and staff!

What is your favorite place on campus?

The Kaplan Center.

What activities and organizations are you involved in on campus?

• Spartan Education Scholars
• Intramural volleyball

What experience at UNCG has had the most significant impact on you?

Spartan Education Scholars has had the most impact on me during my time at UNCG. This has given me the opportunity to gain extra internship hours and gave me a mentor for my program! This program also gave me new friendships and workshops to gain experience that other students in my major don’t have access to.

What has been your favorite class and why?

My favorite class so far has been SES 361 Language and Emergent Literacy with Dr. Tolulope Sulaimon. He was a phenomenal teacher who used hands-on techniques with lecturing along with giving us tasks to complete in our internships to give us real-world experiences.

What are your career goals?

I plan to continue to stay in Guilford County, preferably in first or second grade. After 5-10 years I would like to come back to UNCG to obtain my master’s degree.

What made you want to choose a career in Education?

I love working with kids and wanted to choose a career path to impact future generations. I babysat during my teenage years and then interned for my previous teachers in high school and realized this was my calling! The more internship hours that I gain, the more love I have for the profession!

What advice would you give a student considering UNCG and the School of Education?

The program here is great and the staff is so friendly and helpful. Everyone that’s part of the School of Education is dedicated to help you succeed.
