We are pleased to share that the Center for Applied Linguistics has announced that Dr. Micheline Chalhoub-Deville (ERM) will receive the 2022 Charles A. Ferguson Award for Outstanding Scholarship. She will be presented the award at an online event on Thursday, March 24 during TESOL 2022.

The message below was sent out from the Center for Applied Linguistics in recognition of this accomplishment.

“We are so pleased to present the 2022 Ferguson Award for Outstanding Scholarship to Dr. Micheline Chalhoub-Deville,” said Dr. Shirley Brice Heath. “There are people who, by their very nature, are destined to make an impact on the world, and we felt that Dr. Chalhoub-Deville embodied that rare combination of outstanding scholarship, superior leadership skills, and the ability to foster collaborations among a wide range of people to enrich the world around them. We are also excited that this year’s awardee works in testing, an area previously not as awarded as other fields of applied linguistics.”

“I greatly appreciate receiving this great honor from CAL, which has been a hub for distinguished professionals over the years,” said Dr. Chalhoub-Deville. “I am delighted and honored to have my work be recognized with an award that commemorates Charles A. Ferguson. The visionary contributions of Professor Ferguson are well known in the field of linguistics and beyond.”
