What makes CED unique
Our programs are designed for:
- Strong Professional Identity: graduates described becoming more confident in their skills, voices, leadership abilities, and professional direction as counselors, educators, and researchers
- Faculty Mentorship is Central: Relationships with faculty emerged as one of the most transformational components of this program
- Full-Time Immersive Experience: Our program is a full-time program, where students and faculty are here throughout the week, allowing students to immerse themselves in the world of counseling and move toward their future career opportunities
- In-House Clinical Training: Our MS and PhD students receive clinical training as either counselors or supervisors in our department’s Nicholas A Vacc Counseling and Consulting Clinic
- Practical Research Training: Master’s and Doctoral students receive research training relevant to their career aspirations and potential roles. Graduates consistently discussed applying research skills in leadership, administration, clinical practice, program development, and teaching.
