Congratulations to Tiffany Helton, a social studies teacher at Eastern Alamance High School, who was named the ABSS (Alamance-Burlington School System) Teacher of the Year on May 10, 2018.

After graduating from UNC-Greensboro, Helton started her career at Eastern, where she teaches AP psychology, American history II, and civics and economics, and she says it’s been a wonderful place to learn and grow as a teacher over the last six years.

“The social studies department here at Eastern has been so warm and welcoming to me ever since I student-taught here,” Helton said. “The administration has been great, and I really have a wonderful support system here, and I owe a lot of my success here to their knowledge and taking me under their wing so to speak.”
