Clinical Supervision Research Collaborative (CSRC): A Productive Beginning for Dr. L. DiAnne Borders (CED)

As Dr. L. DiAnne Borders (CED) noted in her recent Impact Through Innovation (ITI) blog, there is an ongoing need for clinical supervision researchers – worldwide and across disparate fields – to collaborate on emerging issues. The Clinical Supervision Research Collaborative (CSRC), co-founded by Dr. L. DiAnne Borders and her colleague Dr. Michael V. Ellis (University at Albany), was created to address this need, with idea development and incubation support from ITI.

The CSRC, launched in July 2020, is a cross-disciplinary and international community that supports clinical supervision researchers in sharing, collaborating, learning from, and consulting with each other. The central goals of the CSRC are to promote, advocate for, and disseminate high quality clinical supervision research that informs supervision best practices for practitioners, educators, and policymakers.

The CSRC held its first Spring Meet & Greets for its collaborators/members in early March 2021 at two different times to accommodate collaborators’ global schedules. The CSRC Advisory Board, which met in February 2021 for the first time, is composed of clinical supervision researchers and/or practitioners from 8 countries and 6 disciplines. Subgroups are helping to develop the website, podcasts and webinars, and special interest learning communities. We look forward to hearing additional updates from this innovative group!
