Susan Strong, SES Alum, Receives Beginning Teacher of the Year Award

Congratulations to Susan Strong, Specialized Education Services (SES) alumna, on receiving the Beginning Teacher of the Year Award for Montgomery County Schools!

Susan earned her B.S. in Special Education from UNCG in 2020. She is a special education teacher at Green Ridge Elementary School in Montgomery County, North Carolina. In this role, she teaches students in Kindergarten through fourth grade. 

Susan was named the Beginning Teacher of the Year for her district for the 2020-2021 school year. “I am proud and honored to receive this award,” she said.

Green Ridge Elementary School principal, Ms. Carla Miller, commented: “Susan’s positive personality and way of connecting with people is one reason why her students love her so much.”
