The School of Education at UNCG, in partnership with the Institute for Partnerships in Education (IPiE) and the New Teacher Support Program (NTSP), hosted a session on the licensure process for educators on February 8, 2025. The event provided emergency licensed teachers with essential guidance on navigating licensure pathways, selecting and affiliating with Educator Preparation Programs (EPPs), and preparing for required exams. Panelists included recently licensed teachers, NC DPI representatives, district and school based leaders, and UNCG faculty, offering a variety of perspectives and actionable advice to teachers in attendance. 

Attendees built their personalized roadmap to licensure, researched programmatic requirements, and discussed common challenges within the process and ways to overcome. Faculty and staff from UNCG presented an overview of their licensure programs,  NTSP also shared resources to support new teachers transitioning into the field, and IPiE representatives assisted with applications for those interested. This collaborative event simplified the licensure process and equipped emergency licensed educators with tools and resources in moving forward towards licensure.
