WHAT IS DATA ANALYTICS?
Data comes from many sources and it is massive in terms of volume. It is varied (images, texts, audio, video, sensor data) and it is generated at a high velocity. Data analysts call this the volume, variety, and velocity challenges of Big Data. A growing number of professionals are needed to meet the demand for expertise in analytics. These experts capture, categorize, clean, store, explore, and interpret data for industries and organizations.

With UNCG’s master of science in informatics and analytics (MSIA), you can acquire the knowledge and skills to become a leader and problem-solver in a data-driven world. The data industry is growing at a rapid pace with many opportunities in this innovative and lucrative occupation.
In our data-driven world, skills to manage data and extract information from it are increasingly valuable throughout business and society. The Master of Science in Informatics and Analytics program aims at teaching such skills to a broad and diverse spectrum of students, whose backgrounds need not be in the quantitative sciences.
This interdisciplinary program can be completed either online or in-person.
