Dr. Heather Moorefield-Lang (LIS) Selected as Recipient of the 2019 American Association of School Librarians (AASL) Research Grant

Congratulations to Dr. Heather Moorefield-Lang, assistant professor in the Library & Information Science (LIS) Department, who has been selected as one of the recipients of the 2019 American Association of School Librarians (AASL) Research Grant!

The AASL Research Grant, sponsored by School Library Connection, recognizes excellence in manuscripts addressing a persistent and recurring challenge in the field of school librarianship. As a recipient, Dr. Moorefield-Lang received a monetary $350 award and the opportunity to present her paper at AASL’s National Conference. The Research Grant Paper session will take place on Saturday, November 16th.

Dr. Moorefield-Lang’s current research focuses on makerspaces in libraries of all types. She had the honor of being nominated for the White House Champion of Change for Making in 2016 and was awarded an American Association of School Librarians Social Media Superstars in the area of Tech Troubadours in 2018.
