“I aim to research better ways to keep happy teachers in the classroom through honoring them as individuals.”

I moved to Greensboro from Germany when I was young.  At the time, it was my father’s turn to pursue a Ph.D. at UNCG; now it is mine. I fell in love with the University as a small child and have always wanted to return for a doctoral program.  I am grateful that you have given me the opportunity to return to this wonderful institution in order to build on my passion for education.

After receiving my M.Ed. from UNCG, I taught at the Doris Henderson Newcomers School, serving refugee and immigrant populations.  I am now pursuing my Ph.D. in Education to study teacher retention. In the future, I would like to develop stronger support programs for teachers.  With your support, I aim to research better ways to keep happy teachers in the classroom through honoring them as individuals and building on their strengths.
