We are pleased to announce that Heather Moorefield-Lang will be joining the Department of Library and Information Studies on August 1st, 2018. She comes to us from the University of South Carolina’s School of Library and Information Science. Her research is focused on emerging technologies and their use in education and libraries. Her current research focuses on makerspaces and maker technologies in libraries of all types and levels. Heather has traveled the globe presenting her qualitative data through the narratives and case studies taking place in makerspaces. Heather is also the creator of TechFifteen, a website and a YouTube channel featuring technology tools for libraries and classrooms. In 2016, she had the honor of being nominated for the White House Champion of Change for Making. She has also had the honor of being nominated for AASL Social Media Superstar in the area of Tech Troubadour two years in a row. Heather is the editor of a new publication just released in March with Libraries Unlimited entitled School Library Makerspaces in Action.
