Jeannette D. Alarcón is an Assistant Professor in the Teacher Education and Higher Education Department in the School of Education. She earned her PhD. from the University of Texas at Austin in the Cultural Studies in Education Program with an emphasis in elementary social studies education. Her research aims to understand school culture and provide emancipatory spaces for teachers to share their experiences. Her work has been presented nationally at the annual meetings of the American Educational Research Association, American Educational Studies Association and College and University Faculty Assembly for the National Council of the Social Studies.
