Biography
Dr. Borders’ central professional goal is to enhance the practice of clinical supervision, as competent supervision is critical to effective counseling and positive client outcomes. She works toward this goal through all aspects of her role as a counselor educator: teaching the clinical supervision course and supervising doctoral students’ clinical supervision internships; research and scholarship on supervisor training; professional leadership as Editor of The Clinical Supervisor and Co-Founder of the Clinical Supervision Research Collaborative; and professional service opportunities such as task forces on supervision professional standards, invited presentations at international conferences, and collaborations with international post-doctoral fellows. Dr. Borders’ efforts have been recognized via several research and mentoring awards.
