Dr. Murray is passionate about working to end intimate partner violence and other forms of abuse. Her research, teaching, and service all reflect this commitment to supporting survivors, holding offenders accountable, and preventing future violence. Recently, most of her work has centered on understanding and ending the stigma surrounding intimate partner violence. She is the Co-Founder of the See the Triumph Campaign (, which is a research-based social media campaign that highlights the stories of hundreds of survivors of past abuse. She also serves as the Director of the Guilford County Healthy Relationships Initiative (, which is a partnership between UNCG and the Phillips Foundation to promote happy, healthy, and safe relationships of all kinds. Outside of work, Dr. Murray enjoys coaching youth basketball and soccer, volunteering in the community and through her church, and running.
