Lasting Impact of Covid Within the Field of Interpreting
Mission Statement
The Spartan Conference for Educational Interpreters is an annual, one-day gathering of scholars who focus on educating future teachers of the D/deaf and Educational American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreters. The purpose of the Spartan Conference is to provide a small, low-stakes, low-cost meeting of the minds and to give opportunities for scholars to present not only their research, but also andragogical practices that they have found effective in training future teachers of the D/deaf, or Educational ASL Interpreters. The 2021 Spartan Conference’s theme is “Lasting Impact of Covid Within the Field of Interpreting.” Presentations should be delivered in American Sign Language.
Goals
To provide a low-stakes, low-cost environment for scholars who train teachers of the deaf, or educational ASL interpreters to present their research, or effective andragogical practices to other like scholars or stakeholders in the local community.
