Community Engagement

ELC students participate in community engagement events

Outside of the classroom, our School of Education students have access to internships, field-based projects and many opportunities to work with members of the local community. Below are a few of the many ways the Department of Educational Leadership and Cultural Foundations (ELC) makes an effort to stay connected with our surrounding community.

The purpose of the Educational Leadership and Cultural Foundations Critical Conversations (ELCCC) conference is to create dialogues that address the current socio-political climate in the United States. A central goal of the conversations is for participants to walk away with a set of pedagogical tools to use in their practice and daily lives.

The Rebecca Carver Institute on Experiential Learning is a 2-day summer experience to gain exposure and build capacity for implementing experiential education.

Principal Preparation for Excellence and Equity in Rural Schools (PPEERS) is a North Carolina Principal Fellows Program involves a partnership amongst 12 rural districts that struggle to find and keep effective principals for high needs schools and UNC Greensboro.
