Message from Dean Wixson Regarding UNCG School of Education Enrollment
There has been a great deal of speculation about enrollment in the School of Education due to recent changes in policies related to teacher licensure, tenure, and compensation. In the interest of providing the most up-to-date and accurate information, the SOE examined both undergraduate and graduate enrollment numbers and student credit hours beginning in Fall 2009 through the Fall 2013 semester. While the data showed a decline in the number of undergraduate education majors (which was also experienced at other schools throughout the UNC system), researchers found that the School of Education has maintained and increased overall enrollment in our graduate programs for the past two years.
Detailed information regarding SOE enrollment can be found here: SOE Enrollment
The faculty and staff of the UNCG School of Education continue to dedicate their time and resources to provide high-quality educational experiences to our undergraduate and graduate students through our nationally ranked programs and award-winning educators.
