For five weeks this semester, Global Engagement is sponsoring a university-wide photo contest to coincide with their QEP Mobile Global Display, which is being housed this week in the main lobby of the School of Education Building! Monday-Friday of this week, post a picture of yourself with the display and comment:

School of Education 2014-2015 Scholarship Application Now Available online

Faculty and Staff, please let your students know they can apply for a School of Education scholarship from February 1, 2014 to April 1, 2014.

An email will also go out to all current education students inviting them to apply.

All scholarship recipients will be notified by email by August 1st.

Scholarships are awarded based on merit, financial need, and other specific criteria for each scholarship. Priority is given to students with a 3.0 GPA and who have already been admitted or will have applications pending admission to the School of Education.

SOE W-2 Pickup Information

W-2s for SOE faculty and staff are available for pickup until Monday, January 27, 2014.  W-2s that are not picked up by this date must be returned to the payroll office for U.S. postal mail delivery.

SOE Faculty pickup: Please check in with your Departmental Admins to pick up your W-2 (ELC faculty, please see Sue Miller in room #328 SOEB).

SOE Staff pickup: If you would like to pick up your W-2 please stop by Sue Miller’s office (room #328 SOEB).

CDLC Announces Winners of 2014 Research Fellowship Competition

The Coalition of Diverse Language Communities (CDLC) is pleased to announce the winners of this year’s research fellowship competition.  Funds for the fellowships came from Dean Karen Wixson and from Vice Chancellor Terri Shelton. The winning projects are as follows:

Melody Zoch and Amy Vetter, along with school partners in Asheboro City Schools: Promoting equitable literacy education for students from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds by supporting teachers through professional development
