Just a reminder that our SOE Reading Day Luncheon will be held on Tues. 12/4 from 12-2 p.m.
This year we will have a holiday sing-off between departments and the LIS department has already identified an outstanding cast of faculty and staff that are going to at least try and sing for everyone’s entertainment
!
Julie is preparing her traditional movie and please also be sure to pay your social committee dues and contribute to the housekeepers’ fund so the Dean can honor each of them at the luncheon.

The UNCG School of Education Staff Assembly has selected Murphey Traditional Academy as its service project for the 2012 holiday season.
We will be collecting items to fill backpacks for their students in need to take home over the holidays. Donations from the list of needed items (or cash donations) may be made to any School of Education department administrator. If you would like to participate, please make your sign-up selection below. The deadline for actually delivering your donation to the SOE is December 14, 2012.

December commencement ceremony

If you need regalia for the December commencement ceremony please get the following information to Sharlene O’Neil below no later than Wednesday, December 5. You will be able to pick this up at the UNCG Bookstore and will be responsible for returning it as well.
The Dean has offered to pay for this for you.

Holiday Safety
As the holiday season approaches please remember to lock all offices and labs.
Mary V. Compton of the Department of Specialized Education Services and Denise Tucker of the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders in the School of Health and Human Sciences presented a one hour research session at the annual meeting of the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association in Atlanta GA on entitled : ” Great Expectations: Needs of late Deafened Adults with Cochlear Implants”. The presentation highlighted the results of their national survey of adults who have lost their hearing who have received cochlear implants.
