The doors will close promptly at 5:55 p.m. for seating in order to start the graduation procession at 6:00 p.m.

This is a very special day for you and your family and friends. We hope everyone enjoys the event. However, please keep in mind that small children and babies may cause a distraction during the ceremony.

When you arrive to the Coliseum Terrace you will proceed directly to the registration table, where you will check in by last name (i.e. A-D, E-K, etc.) There you will pick up your numbered card with your phonetically spelled name and any approved honor you have indicated via online registration. Commencement Program Overview

Graduates will march in and be seated by degree. There will be a brief welcome and introduction of guests by Dean Randy Penfield.
You will line up and be announced by degree; doctoral students are hooded first, then master students walk, followed by undergraduates. Your name will be announced (from your card provided at check-in) and you will cross the stage, shake hands, and receive a diploma cover.

Your diploma will not be in the cover you receive at the commencement ceremony. It will be mailed to you later by the Registrar’s Office after all degree clearances are completed by the University.

PHOTOGRAPHY

A photographer will be on-site to take your photo as you cross the stage. Information regarding how to purchase photos will be sent to you from the photographer after the ceremony. Please make sure to include a non-UNCG email address on your Commencement Registration Form so they will be able to contact you after the ceremony for your graduation photos.
