Faculty Governance

The School of Education Faculty Council and Faculty Assembly are recognized governing structures to support shared governance and a venue for faculty voice.

School of Education Faculty Council

The School of Education Faculty Council is to serve as a vehicle to facilitate communication and discussion between the SOE Faculty and the Dean’s office and the department Chairs. The Faculty Council serves in a consultation and advisory role to the Dean and School of Education administration. The Faculty Council is a representative council and serves as an advisory rather than voting body.

The School of Education Faculty may address any member on this council to bring any issues of concern. Information on the duties, membership and procedures can be found on this council in the School of Education Instrument of Governance.

School of Education Faculty Assembly

The School of Education Faculty Assembly is a forum for faculty discussion of critical issues related to the School of Education’s progress. The Faculty Assembly enacts general policies for the governance of the Faculty of the School of Education and approve procedures for all standing committees. The Faculty Assembly is a committee of the whole that acts on reports and recommendations from Committees.
