At UNCG, the USTEP model encompasses all five phases of teacher education (recruitment, selection, preparation, induction, and career-long professional development) and involves all stakeholders in the teaching and learning process (parents, public school teachers and administrators, university personnel, and other community-based individuals).
In the current work of USTEP, emphasis is placed on school/university partnership to identify the needs of LEAs in terms of B- 12 achievement and of IHEs in terms of professional preparation, and to meet these needs through collaborative planning and implementation.
